 f the week’s most disturbing stories — Trump’s “justice” departm
 ent investigating political opponents. This is\, of course\, a way to limi
 t dissent and silence criticism. And it is more evidence of the authoritar
 ian and anti-democratic tendencies and tactics of the administration.\nAs 
 they reported on these events\, one of the commentators said\, “This isn
 ’t just a story for politicians. Everyone should be afraid”\nUgh\, I d
 on’t need to hear this.\nI’m plenty afraid. Reminding me doesn’t hel
 p.\nI muted the television and looked at the lectionary reading:\nPeace I 
 leave with you\; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world
